Asus, the Taiwanese smartphone maker today has launched its ZenPhone series in India today. First up was the ZenPhone 5, which will be available in the market for Rs 12,999 for the 8GB variant while the 16GB version is costlier by Rs 1,000.
Asus ZenFone 5 has a 5-inch screen with 720p resolution. It is powered by 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor with HyperThreading technology and is coupled with 2GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. It is packed with a 2,110mAh battery.
For camera, there is an 8MP camera with LED flash, and a 2MP camera is placed in the front. It is a dual-SIM smartphone, which requires micro SIM in both the slots.
In addition, Asus has launched its 6-incher ZenFone 6 in India, which will be available for Rs 16,999 (for 16GB variant). Under the hood, the Asus ZenFone 6 comes with 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 3,300mAh battery. Out of the box, even the Asus ZenPhone 6 runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean).
This phablet has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP one on the front.
At the same event, Asus also showcased its ZenFone 4 smartphones and the new FonePad 7 voice-calling tablet.
The Asus ZenFone 4 will be available in two screen sizes: 4-inch and 4.5-inch. The 4.5inch variant of Asus has display resolution of 480x854p, while the other one has a resolution of 480X800p. Other than this, the 4-inch model has a 5MP camera, runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), and packs in a 1,600mAh battery. On the other hand, the 4.5-inch model of Asus ZenFone sports an 8MP rear camera, runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), and packs a 1,750mAh battery.
Both smartphones under the Asus ZenFone 4 range are powered by 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor with 1GB RAM. They both have 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded by up to 64GB via microSD. The price range for this smartphone will kick off from Rs. 5,999.
Asus has shared that all the devices running on Android 4.4 (KitKat) soon but did not mention the exact dates for the same.
